MY STORY

Welcome

My name is Kareem A. S. Abukwaik, and I am an aspiring doctor whose medical education began in Gaza.

My ambition is both clear and deeply personal: to complete the medical training I started and become a physician capable of serving communities where skilled healthcare professionals are needed most. Medicine combines scientific understanding, problem-solving, compassion, and service. The opportunity to improve lives through knowledge and care has inspired my commitment to this profession.

I began my medical education at Al-Azhar University Gaza, where I completed the first three years of study and achieved a cumulative GPA of 90.81%, consistently ranking among the strongest students in my cohort. My studies provided a rigorous foundation in biomedical sciences and fostered a particular interest in the science of disease and its application to patient care.

Despite the disruption of war and the challenges of medical education in Gaza, my commitment to learning and to medicine has never wavered.

From Gaza to a Future in Medicine

Despite interruptions to education, I have never lost sight of my goal. Every challenge has reinforced my determination to continue learning, develop my skills, and pursue a career dedicated to helping others.

A Passion for Learning and Service

Education has always been central to my life.

From an early age, I believed that knowledge creates opportunity, empowers communities, and improves lives. Growing up in Gaza strengthened my appreciation for education and motivated me to pursue a career dedicated to helping others.

My journey has not followed a conventional path. While conflict interrupted my studies and transformed daily life, it strengthened rather than diminished my determination. Every obstacle reinforced my belief that education, healthcare, and service can create hope even in the most difficult circumstances.

Today, my goal remains unchanged: to continue my medical education and dedicate my future career to improving the lives of patients through compassionate and evidence-based healthcare.
